“Located in the neighborhood of Marconi-Alexandra in Montreal’s Little Italy, Wreckage investigates Gorilla’s Park industrial past. The work reveals the existence of the former CP rail line that once cut through the lot and connected Jean-Talon Station with the Harbor. Throughout my process, it seemed appropriate to represent the train by its absence. I reveal the existence of the rail line by the means of subtraction. The physical presence of the work in the space reveals the contrast between the old use of the site, and its recent conversion into an institutionalized green space.”
